Medicom Pharma faced the task of replacing its ageing ERP system, which was no longer supported. As a result, its complex requirements were no longer covered in a future-proof way. Manual processes and the lack of central control made it harder to handle large order volumes and led to a greater need for coordination with manufacturers, wholesalers and doctors. In addition, meeting regulatory requirements for Swissmedic reports and the traceability of batches called for a more powerful system.

With the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, complemented by the modules KS: Medic-order and KS: Pharma-connect, the entire order processing was significantly improved and automated. The interfaces enable digital networking of all partners and ensure secure, efficient processing, even of larger volumes. The traceability of medicines is systematically ensured by the use of Zebra scanners, while Swissmedic reports will in future be generated directly in the system. A clearly structured authorisation system ensures that only authorised doctors are entitled to self-dispense. Overall, processes were accelerated and the satisfaction of everyone involved increased.
